Hector’s Kitchen is a cozy and spotless restaurant in a convenient location. The staff were not only friendly but also impressively knowledgeable, providing outstanding customer service throughout our visit. As a Colombian I can say that each dish was prepared with genuine care, capturing the vibrant flavors that make Colombian cuisine so special. Hector’s Kitchen is an unsuspecting little gem. Me and some buddies were in the Attalla area around lunch time and was looking for a lunch spot. We wanted something local, not just something we could get anywhere. Hector’s Kitchen was showing on Google Maps to be very close to where we were and was rated highly. We weren’t sure because none of us could remember if we’d ever tried Cuban food. We decided to give it a shot. There’s nothing fancy about the exterior or interior but we were greeted by a very friendly hostess who embodied the colorful decor found inside. We told her we’d never been there before so she recommended several dishes to try. The prices were a little higher than we anticipated but one of the recommendations was their Cuban sandwich which was on the lower range of priced dishes so we all three went for that option and all opted for queso with the chips that came with the sandwich over the salsa. The food came out pretty quickly and looked fantastic. Well, it tasted even better than it looked! Each component of the sandwich was perfect from the bread to the meat and was dressed just right with the other toppings. We all said we could have made a meal out of just the bread, it was great! The tortilla chips were hot and fresh and were a great vehicle to deliver the tasty queso! We were very pleased with the entire experience. If I ever find myself near this spot around meal time I will definitely be back! Thanks Hectors for a great lunch.

Awesome People and Awesome Food. Vegetarian Friendly, but not a vegetarian restaurant, so there's plenty of meat options. I usually get the Vegetarian Columbian Dinner, pictured. I recently tried the vegetarian nachos. Amazing.

Amazing... A diamond in the middle of nowhere. Fabulous food... Great service. Some if the best Cuban food I have ever had.... I would drive out if the way to eat there again.

Total surprise to find this place halfway between Birmingham and Chattanooga. Great flavors, especially the Coconut Wrap. A young woman was handling the entire front of house - perhaps a bit much for one person - but she was pleasant and helpful. Would definitely return!

This place is absolutely fantastic. The food was all so delicious and fresh and generous for the price. The staff were all so wonderful and friendly. We got to meet Hector and he told us a little about himself and the restaurant. I wish Auburn, Alabama had a place just like this, but I will be back any time I am in the Gadsden area!

We travel extensively around the country and post reviews occasionally when we feel moved to do so. Recently, we happened upon a restaurant worth writing about. Actually, as we drove past it something about it caught our attention so we turned around and went it. We are very pleased we did. Hector's Kitchen is a small roadside diner located at 701 Gilbert Ferry Road SE in Attalla, Alabama. Watch carefully if you're driving through that area because it's easy to miss. We know because we initially missed it. But their food is worth turning around for! They have an extensive menu of fresh fare, which we sampled, but their Cuban sandwich was definitely a hit! Their chef is a star! Also, be sure to order some plantains. There are so many choices it's hard to decide. Oh, and don't forget dessert! Another highlight of our visit was the people in front of and behind the counter. Hector's has some of the most friendly employees we've found in our travels. Gale, Abby and Kim went above and beyond to assure our visit was memorable. We appreciated their menu suggestions, their attention and their efforts on our behalf. We will definitely return to sample other menu items.
