Good parking. Nice room. Snug but cosy. Good sensible menu of straightforward food. Pleasant staff. Just less than £15 for two coffees and two cakes. Some outdoor seating. Well behaved and clean dogs allowed (wish that was applied to children too!!) Taken a point off because - I hate it when they've slopped your coffee into your saucer - it drips on your clothes and the table. Only napkin on the table looked to have already been used. Had to get another from a nearby table. Coffee and walnut cake was very dry on the outside - Bakewell cake was good though.👍🏻 We had a difference of opinion on this one - coffee was far too hot in my opinion, husband preferred that to it being too cool. I will visit again and would recommend it.

Ok. So as requested, I’m leaving a full and frank review. Myself and a friend went in for breakfast. The service, food quality and price were faultless. Especially for the location. The café was quite busy but we were still served promptly. They are the positives. My bits of constructive Criticism are, I’m a sucker for table service and just think it adds something to a good establishment, especially one as well staffed as here. Secondly, where we sat, the daunting music which on the day was jazz and so loud we virtually had to shout to hear ourselves in conversation. The third and last thing was the elderly gentleman who I guess is an owner, needs a lesson in customer service and had he spoken to me the way he spoke to some people who came in and didn’t quite shut the door properly, he would have got a stern one before I would have left. Yes, some people can be a bit thoughtless, but perhaps a simple “ excuse me could you close the door” or even a joke with them about it. But he was rude and aggressive with them which was noted by many of the clientele. Saying this, I will be returning at some point and would gladly discuss this review, I’m the younger of the two chaps that sat in the window corner next to the tv, another nice touch with the log fire dvd showing.

Stopped here for the first time on a sunny day. Friendly staff, and a selection of hot food as well as treats. I got a piece of the Cherry Bakewell cake and my wife had the Chocolate cake. We both really enjoyed the lonely soft fresh cake and will definitely get some more next time we're in the area.

We enjoyed our second visit here, having walked from Chatsworth on a cold day we found the cafe to be warm and welcoming. We enjoyed our meals which were served quickly, despite the cafe being busy. It was pleasing to find that the breakfast menu was served until early afternoon and we were each tempted with a cake from the good selection, which we enjoyed with a lovely cup of tea. The staff were friendly and helpful and we look forward to future visits.

No longer dog friendly , there are two tables inside where they are allowed ( which incidentally are next to each other ) but a maximum of 3 dogs total inside so you need to do a count before you enter . They are welcome outside but I don't particularly want to eat in the rain or cold . Most pubs and cafes are increasingly welcoming for dogs but if this cafe chooses an alternative direction that's their choice but it's off my list for now. I do remember this place also , unusually , had a "no laptops " policy at one time , perhaps the management here have some need to show how much in control they are ?

We spotted this little cafe while out for a walk. On our way back we stopped in for some coffee and snacks. We ordered two Americano coffees , cheese & onion toasty and slice of cake. The coffees came out in clear larger mugs and looked liked muddy water, the taste was missing completely, the toasty was barely cooked, bread still white, onion raw and cheese not even warm never mind melted. The cake was edible but certainly not fresh today. We did eat the toasty and cake. The muddy coffees we left and ordered two double espresso instead, at least the espresso looked and tasted like coffee. We visit this area regularly but certainly won’t give the pavilion cafe any business. Would I recommend? Definitely not.

Lovely food, efficient service, reasonable prices, but I would not consider this cafe dog friendly. Dog tolerant at a push. After popping in the day before to check this cafe was dog friendly, we were quickly put on edge as soon as we walked through the door. The cafe was near on empty and we chose a table tucked in the corner so our dog wouldn’t bother anyone. Immediately staff came over, tapped the table to show a small ‘no dogs’ sign and directed us to a coffee table. As we intended to have a full breakfast, this table was too low. Another staff said we could sit at 1 other table. It was right at the door. After reading reviews, where staff have asked people to leave if their dog so much as yapped, we were really tense in case our dog barked for any reason, as some dogs can. It made the whole experience very uncomfortable and stressful. I like to balance any complaints with constructive feedback, so please can I recommend that you change the dog tables away from the door, separate them to avoid dog conflict and reconsider your 3 dogs per cafe rule? I think this would then make your dog friendly policy a fair and honest statement.
