The Mayfair

What an amazing place! A bit of a hidden jewel in Bungay, and with such a funky, chilled atmosphere, like a Spanish bodega. Since September 2025 they’ve offered a really incredible menu of food from local legend Toto, and “Toto’s Tapas “ is not to be missed. So many great dishes, but the Tortilla omelette is the best I’ve ever tasted, and the croquetas are irresistible. It feels like a new era for this brilliant bar, and it’s now so popular you need to book a table in advance. Lovely staff, great and groovy vibe - I love it! On Sundays they have family friendly Churros and Chocolate in the mornings.

Happened upon this place while visiting Bungay for the first time. The pool table was very enjoyable for the children. Tapas was well put together although the ingredients were low quality and the line server had too many clients to serve on her own so service was understandably slow. The decor was certainly interesting and there was a general sense of calm within the place, with relaxing background music. Perhaps we were not the usual suspects, being a family of 5. We wish the Mayfair every success.

Staff were friendly inviting and made the place! Cocktails were amazing especially the Dark in Bungay! Great atmosphere and will certainly visit again.

Beautiful relaxed vibe...some interesting art work, cool fixtures and fittings. Entertaining social milieu. Staff friendly and smiley. Excellent background music 🎶

Stopped in after Norwich for a pick me up, Excellent coffee and tapas (you can tell from the empty platter). The owners are very kind and polite, great atmosphere lovely people and food.

Shockingly awful experience - hard to fathom how in the current economic environment this establishment could consider its actually trying to make money rather than discouraging customers to ever return. We popped in one evening for an evening meal and drinks, lured in by the hip decor and relaxed vibe only to be totally ignored by the female bar attendant who was fixated by her friends at the bar and by the one other person who may have worked there though judging by his lack of courtesy may just have been another trendy. After waiting for 15 minutes we left. We walked a few metres to another local restaurant and were astonished by how incredible their service and food was leaving a 20% tip, a glowing review and the definite intention to return.

Love this place! Fabulous, unique, and a wonderful addition to Bungay… it mixes style with comfort as easily as it does delicious cocktails - great tapas menu and coffee too. Just celebrated a good friend’s birthday here and it was perfect. Staff were lovely, a great atmosphere, some brilliant events coming up too. Go and enjoy it, nothing like this for miles around!!
