Been here many times over the years. The Kirkby Lonsdale brewery started here before they opened the barn. Great real ale destination. Madge ordered me the 3.9% Ruskin's best bitter. Lovely. Flatric only in his second ever pub so he chose Poretti. The 12 - 2 lunchtime meals for £8.95 are well worth it. Have been here when mobbed by rugby supporters, during a beer festival and when kids celebrated the end of their schooldays. Evening meals are very popular, look out for evening deals.. Never stayed but friends were here a few weeks ago and loved it. A Cask Marque pub. Up to 7 real ales. Regular guest ales. Great bespoke carpet.

A lovely family meal for my son’s birthday. Nothing was too much trouble, excellent service, tasty food and a good selection of drinks. I asked for a couple of balloons to be put on our table. When we arrived there was bunting too. Thank you so much!

Last time we ate here it was first class in every way, from the warm welcome to the gr8 food. What's gone wrong....?! Not very friendly staff, and very disappointing food and drinks :-) We asked for Coke and it was not Coke - just cheap brown stuff full of sweetener. Gross. The food was utterly mediocre this time, and the pub seems to have lost it's quirky/fun/fab food vibe. Very sad :-(

Just visiting the area for a couple of hours for a day out, called in for lunch, the barman was polite, happy & friendly. Ordered drinks & lunch. We both had freshly made sandwiches, with crisps & salad. Very lovely food & drinks, service was quick. The actual building is very historic & very interesting & would recommend a visit & try the food, a good varied menu

Great selection of cask ales in good condition. Spacious rooms with ample seating whether just drinking or having food (not on this occasion).
