Breakfast likewise was superb. Staff were really friendly and helpful, really personable and attentive. Would highly recommend

We stayed here with my elderly grandparents as a stopover to visit Beamish Museum, just 20 minutes away. The rooms were clean, modern, and well equipped. As all rooms are on one level, it was ideal for my grandad who struggles with walking. We had a family room rather than an accessible one, but the large walk-in shower was perfect for him.||The food was excellent with very generous portions. We all had the pie for our main, which was delicious, followed by equally tasty desserts. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and another beautiful meal – thank you to the chefs.||All the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, offering fantastic customer service.||Highly recommended – we’d be very happy to stay here again.

Stayed here to 2 nights whilst visiting Beamish open air museum. 3 adults in 1 room, wife and adult daughter. Hotel is situated just off A1M/A194(M) junction, about 6 miles southeast of Newcastle, 1 mile south of the “Angle of the North” Access road if off the beat track, easy to locate from the main exit A1M A nice local pub with 18rooms all on the ground floor giving easy accessibility to those with mobility issues. Main reception is just to the right of the pub with a single door. Walk through the door and be treated with a small foyer and reception desk (porter available 24/7). Easy book in process, pre booked room and paid for before arrive. All rooms have electronic card keys, only issued 1 between the 3 of us (wasn’t an issue as we was together throughout our visit). Good information provided about the bar and restaurant, ask what we wanted for breakfast in reception and any allergens (all of use are Coeliacs). Room easy to find, plenty of room, double and a single Ben in the room. Clean tidy with the usual coffee/tea making facilities. Small open wardrobe with typical hangers available. A small desk with chair. Iron & Ironing board in the room. Room was warn, widows would not open fully, I’m guessing this was more of a security feature rather than preventing anyone throwing themselves out the window to fall 3 feet. Comfortable night sleep both nights, quilts and 2 pillows (there’s where basic & flat, fortunately we brought our own) Good sized bathroom with a huge shower, big enough to house 2 large sized adults (if that’s your thing) integral toilet and sink. BEWARE- the water is scalding hot, made the wastage of diving in not checking the temp and promptly burnt the twins, I now have 3rd degree burns on my plumbs. Nonetheless, a great shower. Room was at the end of the corridor so little to no foot fall from other residents, very quiet. Large carpark, restaurant was busy throughout the evening with an extensive menu, they cater very well for Coeliacs, they have a separate menu highlighting all the food that’s safe for Gluten Free. Food is reasonably priced, had Garlic mushrooms starter both nights, delicious, 10oz gammon the first night and the 10oz steak the 2nd night both very nice (see attached menu). I’ve uploaded several photos of the hotel room and building. My only complaint is the staff was a little slow in dealing with us at dinner between ordering courses however, all staff were very pleasant, professional and polite throughout our stay. Dropped a star for service, would highly recommend this for a few nights. Will visit them again.

We stayed for three nights last week. The welcome at reception was friendly and efficient. The room was good with a decent sized bed and nice bathroom (with shower). We ate there each night. As we arrived on Sunday we had the Sunday roast. Very nice and good portions. The following two nights we just had starters as there was a very good choice and plenty enough for us. Breakfasts were really good. Tried the full English, scrambled eggs and poached eggs (with a very large sausage – but they gave me two!). Service was great. Definitely recommend.

Great hotel which I wish I’d discovered years ago. ||It’s easy to find (with Sat Nav), plenty of parking and is in a great location to get into Newcastle. ||The staff were really friendly on check in and we managed to get into the room early. ||You can tell the rooms are recently refurbed. They are modern, clean and quiet so everything you need. The bathrooms are great with brilliant showers compared to most hotels. ||The pub itself is really busy which is a good sign, friendly and efficient staff with great food. ||Breakfast was ordered the night before and you book in for a set time (8-9.30 on a Sunday). The food seemed to be freshly cooked to order and set us up for the day. ||I’d definitely recommend this hotel/pub and it will be our usual place to stay when in the area from now on.

Location was perfect for me to access Newcastle next day , very quite and off the main road however very close to the A1 . Staff friendly , room very clean and tidy.|Couldn't make out what the bar area wanted to be and as i was staying the night i wanted a quite place to sit have dinner and maybe a couple of drinks. Had to sit at a table which felt like a restaurant, had dinner which was very salted and when mentioned the waitress said "OH really" !! so didnt eat half of it and as i felt i was sitting in someones seat decided to go for a walk. returning to the room the TV didnt work as reception was really bad . Good nights sleep with really dark room and quite .|Shower in the morning was a mix of off and burn your skin off with no in between.|I did like the place and had a good night however wont be coming back .|The staff where very good in a whole just not sure what the place it trying to be

A lovely place, very conveniently placed near the. A-1, to break our journey south. The staff were friendly and attentive. The evening meal and breakfast were excellent. This is our second stay. They were unexpectedly generous in replacing ; free of charge ; a glass of wine that I knocked over, that was arguably, my fault. Can't wait until our next visit !
