I visited Casa Del Alma twice, and I must say it’s a wonderful experience each time. The atmosphere is lovely, and the decor is full of life, complemented by beautiful music. There’s attention to so many details, from the candles and cushions to the Mexican vibes throughout. The food is delicious and fresh, and the staff are very friendly, especially the lady who welcomes the guests. I highly recommend this place!

The atmosphere was warm, the music and vibe is nice inside however the service and staff were super impolite and blunt with me and my group. The lady that served us had an attitude for no reason and wasn’t patient with us while we decide what to order. When I told her we are deciding she gave an eye roll and walked away. Once we had finished she was eager to remove the plates from the table. Overall, I wouldn’t recommended, customer service is important and makes people return and I will not be returning.

Casa Del Alma is an absolute vibe! The food was out of this world. The tacos were fresh and packed with flavour, the quesadilla was crispy and cheesy with a delicious filling, and the burrito was ample and delicious. The service was amazing, super friendly and attentive, and the whole place had such a fun, vibrant atmosphere. Definitely one of the best Mexican spots we’ve ever been to, we can’t wait to go back!

What an absolutely incredible dining experience we had at Casa del Alma in Darlington! From the moment we walked through the door, we knew we were in for something special. Tucked right in the heart of the town centre, it’s the perfect spot to grab an authentic bite before or after exploring the area — but honestly, once you’re inside, you won’t want to leave. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a mix of traditional Mexican charm and quirky, fun details that give it a warm and vibrant personality. Think bold colours and little touches that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a fiesta. Everything was spotless, too — clearly well looked after. I started off with a spicy margarita that hit the perfect balance of heat and citrus — a bold twist on a classic that instantly set the tone. The food was nothing short of spectacular. We shared a variety of dishes: tacos, quesadillas, and crispy churros dusted in cinnamon sugar. Every plate was immaculately presented, and you could tell that great care had gone into both the preparation and the plating. The standout? The boozy mojito cheesecake. Genuinely one of the most unique desserts we’ve ever tried — zingy, creamy, with a little kick. Just divine. Midway through the evening, the whole restaurant was invited to join in a spontaneous burst of fun — sombreros came out, music turned up, and everyone got up for a quick dance break with free tequila shots all around. It was festive, hilarious, and brought the whole room together in a shared moment of joy. Where else do you get that? The staff were just as memorable as the food — warm, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. They explained the menu in detail, made great recommendations, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Special mention to the owner, Matei, who clearly pours his heart into the place. His passion for authentic Mexican cuisine shines through in every aspect of the experience. This isn’t just dinner — it’s a celebration of flavour, culture, and good vibes. We left full, happy, and already planning our return. Casa del Alma is a must-visit if you’re in or around Darlington. We’ll definitely be back — ¡hasta pronto!

We visited last night for Valentine’s and had an amazing experience! We went for the £65 Valentine’s offer, which included tequila, margaritas, plenty of food, and a dessert. The wine selection was fantastic, and we loved the live guitarist playing throughout the evening. Highly recommend to anyone looking for something unique!

I am a huge fan of Mexican food, and the food I had from Casa del Alma was some of the best food I’ve had outside of Mexico itself. The service was faultless; all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Yes, the food takes a while to come, BUT it is worth the wait. Everything is cooked fresh as ordered which you can tell when your food arrives. We ordered a pollo quesadilla and a Casa del Alma burrito with chilli con carne nachos and smoky pork loaded fries. Suffice to say a takeaway bag was needed as the portions were huge!!! This, alongside two bottles of Corona and two drinks of Coke Zero, came to £50 which is fantastic value for money… significantly cheaper than a certain Tex-Mex chain and significantly better quality. It may have been our first time, but it will definitely be our last. ¡Hasta luego, Casa del Alma!

Absolutely the best and most authentic Mexican food you will find in this part of the UK. Every dish is handmade with care and bursting with flavor. The cocktails are just as impressive, with one of the most exciting selections of margaritas I have ever seen on a menu. Each one is as delicious as the last, making them perfect whether you are enjoying a full meal or simply stopping in for tapas. Beyond the incredible food and drinks, the staff are genuinely warm and welcoming, and the décor transports you straight to Mexico. Casa Del Alma delivers an experience that feels both vibrant and authentic from start to finish. If you have not been yet, you are truly missing out. Give Casa Del Alma a try and I promise you will not regret it. For me it is a solid 10 out of 10.
