Absolutely brilliant service, food and very professional staff. This was my son's first time experiencing an Indian restaurant and I'm so happy we came here! Staff are fantastic and polite. Very quick service with food as we were all really hungry! The food was all delicious. We had chicken Korma, chicken Makani and Kori masala.

Liked this place. For a start they were open and had a table after 10pm, unlike most places in Keswick which seem to shut at 9pm. Warm welcome. Nice room. Bang out the popodoms and the beer quickly. Food good too, cooked with care.

First time here ordered a takeaway consisting of tikka salmon with pilau rice and a madras sauce separately. The fish was cooked to perfection it was all so delicious which is why I ate it so quickly before remembering to take a picture oops………. The staff were very polite and softly spoken. Atmosphere- The atmosphere well I was definitely the odd one out. The people eating there were lot of elderly. They all seemed depressed not one smile between them. No laughter, no joy. For a moment I thought I was at a wake. I definitely wouldn’t recommend sitting in there the energy of the people was horrible. I had to thoroughly sage my self when I got out. (Saging) using sage stick to remove negative energy from one’s aura. Price - it was a little pricey which is why I didn’t have a starter. However the quality of the food is reflected in this. Would I go again……yes just to annoy some of the trying to be snobby individuals there. I think they were a little shocked to see me. However on a positive note I ate my meal in the comfort of my lovely campervan without dull vacant eyes of the people there staring at me.

I cannot explain how grateful my sister and I were for Lakeland Spice this evening! We were visiting the beautiful Keswick area for the week, and quickly realized that there were extremely limited options for a late night dinner. We walked in around 9:45pm, offering to order takeout in order to not be an inconvenience, and were instead warmly welcomed to a cozy table in the back. The food was incredible. Warm, fresh, and perfectly (and richly) spiced. I highly recommend the garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, and steamed rice. A huge thanks to the staff for their kindness and generosity of heart- you can tell this is a family-run business well worth supporting.

Came here on a Friday night. We were told there would be a 15 minute wait for a table. We waited for 30 minutes and when we were eventually seated upstairs, we had walked past 5 evacuated tables downstairs. As per photo, we were seated by the main thoroughfare, next to an open fire door. My shish kebab was a brown colour, I have been eating Indian meals for the past 45 years, the shish kebabs have always been red with a yellow sauce. My Madras curry was red, again normality would suggest brown. Not happy with the total experience.

Review only for Indian Tourists Expecting Authentic Indian Food: Lakeland Spice Cuisine, Keswick shows up on Google as an “Indian restaurant”, so highlighting a few things Indian tourists should know before going: 1. You are not really their target customer. They mainly cater to Non‑Indian (British customers) diners looking to “experience” Indian‑style food. So don’t expect the warm welcome you usually get at Indian‑focused places. 2. It’s run by our brothers from Bangladesh. Naturally, the menu and taste lean more towards Bangladeshi‑style Indian food, not the authentic regional Indian food many of us might be looking for. 3. Food quality is okay. It’s not bad, but nothing special either—and on the pricier side for what you get. 4. Staff communication. The waiters often chat in their own language while serving. It might feel like they’re making fun of you. Best to take it in good spirit and not overthink it. Overall, if you’re an Indian tourist expecting familiar, authentic Indian food, this place will probably may disappoint you. But if you’re okay with a more generic Bangladeshi‑Indian style meal and don’t mind paying a bit extra, the food is serviceable. 2.5/5

I had the naga chili curry and found it to be the perfect balance of spice and flavour. The staff were most friendly, and I would readily recommend it.
