Merienda

I’ve eaten at Merienda twice in two days - once by accident, the second time entirely on purpose. Both evenings were spot-on. The food? Just gorgeous. The pan-fried scampi was so good I nearly applauded. The onion and spinach bhajis - proper flavour, crispy perfection, and not a drop of grease in sight. For mains, I had the Caesar Salad one night and the salmon with vegetables and mash the next. Both dishes were an absolute poem - beautifully cooked, balanced, and seasoned with what I can only assume is actual joy. 🫶🏻 Service was friendly, calm and charmingly understated; no nonsense, just people who clearly care about what they’re doing. Honestly, every penny well spent. A little gem in Keswick. If I lived here, I’d be in trouble - I’d eat here every night. 🥇

Dropped in by chance and was given a table with courtesy and assisted by a respectful gentleman. Offered menu etc but we had already seen the cakes. So drinks and cake ordered. Very happy with our choices and tasty cake. Access from the street all on one level so easy for wheelchair and buggies. Ground floor toilet which doubles for disabled users again all on the same level. So to sum up very happy we visited. Payment by card or cash. The coffee was very hot and top quality.

We had a wonderful time at Merienda in Keswick. The food was absolutely beautiful. It was fresh, full of flavour and really well presented. I had the trout which was cooked perfectly and I would definitely recommend it. My husband and child both had pasta dishes which they really enjoyed. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a cosy feel that makes it a lovely spot to relax after exploring Keswick. Service was friendly and attentive. A perfect place to eat in the Lakes but highly recommend booking ahead if you’re going for dinner as it does get a little busy.

Absolute gem and standout dinner experience from our time in Keswick. Fresh, tasty meals, very good portions. We had the onions Bajhis, beef tacos, creamy steak pasta, lamb burger, sticky toffee pudding and lemon posset and all were incredible. Staff also very friendly and helpful.

I am quite frankly shocked and dismayed at the lackluster service I received at merienda, we were seated fast and dog friendly, no accomodation for the dog to drink water however, We were served the peri wrap, which was inedible due to the food presentation? Wraps are supposed to be hand held food I thought, not with a knife and fork. The pulled pork burger was made of lead, video attached to show, how am I supposed to eat this without a hydraulic press, the STIHL will be brought next time, My friend’s Russian toastie was acceptable. Charging more for 250ml of orange juice than a hot chocolate. I’m dismayed, upset and out of pocket of an unreasonable amount of money, I would not come here if it was the only place open for miles around, Avoid.

Had the best treat at Merienda today to catch up with my daughter who had been away and I couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place, the food as ever was phenomenal, we all had a different dish and we all said how gorgeous it tasted and looked. Always guaranteed a smile from Janet all in all cant rate it high enough can’t wait to go Back, soon. Thanks all.

Superb meal the other week. Just a small place so booked online. Very friendly service. Delicious roast trout for me and seabass fillets for my friend.

Happened upon Merienda when we were looking for a late lunch after getting off the ferry in Keswick. So glad we did! Really delicious food. We had the salmon eggs Benedict (had a different name on the menu), and the steak sandwich. Both were delicious. There’s also a full coffee bar and bar with plenty of options. Menu was extensive, healthy, and local, company was great, and service was fast and chill. Highly recommend for foodies in need for some nourishment.
