The Green Dragon Public House

I'm so pleased this place turned up on my Facebook feed. We decided to go tonight for dinner and we certainly didn't regret it. It's only a short drive from our house, a fifteen minute drive into the countryside is always nice. Lovely looking pub which was quite full in the bar, a good atmosphere. We were served our drinks by a very friendly lady and then we took our seats in the restaurant area. Served again by a very friendly and helpful young lady. We didn't wait long for our starters, which were presented and tasted fantastic. Our mains were just the same. Hardly any wait at all and the presentation was great. Everything was cooked very very well indeed, the portion sizes were generous but not over bearing and the tastes were sensational. We'll definitely be returning, the whole experience was exemplary. Thank you.

We stayed at the Green Dragon after my sons engagement party. The rooms were excellent very nicely decorated, good size and good bathroom with a lovely hot and powerful shower. Kitchenette area was as described.||||The bar and dining area was stylish and can see ever effort has been made to make it very welcoming. Wide range of good quality ales and spirits with plenty of seating inside and out. The Sunday roast was absolutely beautiful! Shame we couldn't eat it all! ||||Staff were brilliant and tailored to all our needs and requirements. Special thanks to Shona and Georgia who where very welcoming and always had a smile.||||For a pub that has been open not even a year hats off to you will definitely be back!

We recently stayed at this Inn and had such a good experience. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, the room had lots of character and enough space for the two of us, and it’s conveniently located above the village pub which has a great food menu if you need a hearty meal! Would recommend a stay here.

We used this country pub for an overnight stay as we were visiting a car show at Rockingham Raceway. We booked in and was shown up into our room for the night bedroom 3. This is quite small with two single beds and a on- suite toilet and shower room. The shower room had a masserater toilet system with a extraction unit which annoyingly stays on for about 15 minutes after using the bathroom. The breakfast room is along a narrow corridor next to room 4 . Do not book this room as I think it could be noisy early morning with people using these facilities. The breakfast room has everything you need to make drinks and to have a breakfast of cereals and toast . There is only chair in there and to be honest we took ours back to our room. Although from what we were told this property only opened after a refurb in January 2017 the rooms and area we used upstairs had cracked plaster on the walls and ceiling and the paint work was not that good. The bar area and dining area downstairs was deceiving as it looks like they have got three properties and knocked them into a massive area for dining and drinking. Local ales on sale and a very selective menu to choose from. The staff were polite and very helpful . The food pricing was relevant to the area. A nice village to spend time walking around with a lot of history. Car parking is outside on the road and it's park where you can.

Spent a night at The Green Dragon en route to Northampton the following day. Had BB&EM - the room was small but very clean, the meal was excellent, the beer good - all backed up by the staff who were excellent, friendly and really customer focused. The chef was also excellent if the food was anything to go by. All in all a nice experience - felt like one of the family. We'll be back sometime.

I chose this B and B as I was attending Burghley horse trials which is 30 minute drive without the huge hotel bill. I had my two dogs with me and the room was more than big enough for the 4 of us (I had the family room). The best bit is the kitchenette, someone in a review below described this as a lazy approach but I think it is a genius idea. We were up and away early to Burghley and were still able to have breakfast before we left without waiting for the restaurant to open. The kitchenette has everything you need, microwave, dishes, all cutlery, kettle, fresh milk, cereal, tins of beans!i wish other B and B’s had this idea 💡 room was great, very clean and proper pub food in the restaurant. Staff are great and they love dogs, I can not say 1 single bad thing about this place an absolutely gem 💎 5 🌟 for facilities and convenience

Really awful. Most of the menu was unavailable, burgers and the advertised specials included. This was early on a Friday evening. They did have macaroni cheese, my 4th choice from the menu. Honestly, it was dreadful. Watery, floury, a cheap packet sauce mix. Just disgusting. Don't go there. The waitresses advised "some people like it" before refunding £5.

The food was quite nice and the service was excellent it only took 20 minutes for the food to arrive and it was lovely, the staff were very nice and it idls located in the centre of the village which is very accessible to residents and the pool room is very clean and it's a great place to celebrate any occasions.
