The Black Bull at Nateby

Called in late on a Friday afternoon 3.30pm or so. We were advised food was finished until 5pm. However they said if we just wanted something simple they would Russel it up for us. They suggested the steak pie with mash and veg. Which is probably what I would have ordered anyway if the menu was on still. Food was superb, the ale superb and the service possibly even better. Sensibly priced was even more of a bonus.

Short break and staying in the village. Great location, staff really friendly and accommodating. Food amazing. A lovely friendly atmosphere no matter what time or how busy ... We had a Sunday lunch, 3pm I think we booked and because of the rain didn't leave till after 7 me thinks...😁

What a lovely quaint wee dog friendly pub. Excellent Sunday roast, could not fault anything it was absolutely delicious. You could take your pudding home which also was delicious. Fantastic service and very pleasant staff.

The best Sunday Roast Lunch for miles around. We had the Lamb Roast, Yorkshire Pudding, Delicious Gravy and Gravy Boat, Mint Sauce, Roast Potatoes, Carrots, Roast Parsnips, Broccoli, Green Beans, Mashed Potatoes. Yes a plate full and very tasty. Followed by White Chocolate Torte with Lakes Vanilla Ice Cream, washed down with a pint of Timothy Taylor's and a large Sauvignon Blanc. Bill at £55 exceptional value for two lunches. Polite and efficient young staff, the restaurant was full from 12 noon and no wonder. Drive past the rest and stop at the best.

We are on holiday in Kirkby but liked the look of the menu at The Black Bull so visited for our wedding anniversary We definitely weren't disappointed, a varied menu with very reasonable prices, we both had steak and Guinness pie with mash and seasonal veg, absolutely delicious and piping hot. Pudding was the best Eton mess I have ever had.The staff were very friendly and the service excellent We would definitely highly recommend 👌 dog friendly as well which is a big plus for us

We enjoyed a fabulous family meal (table of 7). The food and service was excellent, lots of choice in the menu, the meals were all served together and the young members of staff were swift and professional. We'll definitely return as there areits if things on the menu still to try!

Beautiful setting, great service and food. The team are welcoming and friendly, with a great selection of home cooked foods and a wide range of drinks all reasonably priced.||Some of our favourite things were: the quirky decor with lots of lovely things to grab your attention, the setting-right by a stream, all of the four legged friends that are welcomed, the toilets were well stocked with everything you could need from perfume to toiletries and brilliant artwork.||We would definitely return.

We just went for a meal at this excellent country pub. The food was supurb. The real ale was very good. Parking can be a little tight and consideration has to be given to locals when parking in the village.
