Cawdor

We had a great stay. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the food is a very high standard. The breakfast was very good and for dinner we had a fish cake, burger and shepherds pie all of which were really tasty and used local ingredients. The lady serving in the restaurant was excellent. The only drawback is noisy rooms on the front of the hotel, due to traffic.

Me and my partner decided to stop for some food at The Cawdor. When we arrived, it wasn’t particularly busy, and there was a sign asking customers to stand and wait to be seated. We waited around 10 minutes, but during that time we noticed three staff members chatting among themselves and we felt completely ignored. In the end, we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. As a business owner myself, I would never allow my staff to stand around talking while customers are left waiting for no reason — it leaves a poor impression and costs custom

I celebrated my 70th birthday with extended family and some special friends with an evening meal (party of 30 age range 1 month to 81 years). I liaised with Stacey (and Melanie) in preparation for the event and they couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. Everyone at the Cawdor from reception to bar staff to waiters and waitresses were superb, service was excellent and the food was absolutely gorgeous. My partner and I , plus my sister and brother in law and my friend of 62yrs and his wife all stayed overnight and we were very impressed with our rooms, facilities and breakfast the following morning. The Cawdor has made my birthday celebration a most memorable occasion - thank you all so much

A very enjoyable evening, large comfortable bed and a spacious room. A great shower. We ate at the restaurant And the food was excellent, the waitress was very efficient and attentive. The only downside for me involved carrying tge suitcase from the carpark down stairs to reception. In future I would unload the car on the main road and then drive to the car park.

Second time staying here for business, always very friendly and welcoming, good food, nice bar, lots of parking. Last orders is a little early ;-) have enjoyed both my stays and will stay again. First time booking I was lucky enough to get an upgraded room. They facilitated early|Check in for me this time round due to business I had that evening. Would recommend 👍

Great food, well presented. Attentive staff.main dining area lacks the same ambience as the bar.Feels like a large canteen, needs something on the walls like the bar. Will be going back

Stayed last night after the town's car show. The staff were amazing. The reception made checking in easy and also took the time to find me in the evening and complemented me on my display vehicle that was in the car park. 🛻. The restaurant staff were very helpful and efficient. The room and bathroom were large. The bed was comfortable. The car park is secure, (you need a code to get in), but it has a tight left hand turn to get to it, which can be tricky for larger vehicles.

Second stay at this hotel and will definitely return. Fabulous building with every room well furnished and pleasant decor. All food, evening and breakfast, plenty of choice and delivered to high standard. The staff are all polite, friendly and well trained.
