Friendly service, great food (delicious homemade sourdough!) and great coffee. Flat white size was perfect ! Thankyou :) visited because of the indy coffee guide and well worth it

A recent visit, a year after the review below, found the venue increasing in popularity but having difficulty with keeping up the good service. Sadly, although the place has lovely atmosphere and location, the 2 breakfasts were found to have overcooked meat. You need your best set of teeth to get through that bacon! See last two photos. Finally, we were surprised to see no condiments on the tables. Two breakfasts, a coffee and a Mate tea was £33. Superb cappuccino this morning, really good, strong and in a modest sized cup, not like some places where you get served coffee in a soup bowl! The sourdough toast was served on a dinner plate with plenty of lovely butter and sharp Seville marmalade. A treat if you’re really hungry. I didn’t find the prices too expensive, not for such an artisan bakery, with clean, pleasant surroundings and attentive staff. Will definitely be going back with friends. And family👍😁 Went again 12th April 2023. Had avocado on toast with a poached egg, and a cappuccino coffee, £12 in total. The egg was a little bit too runny, I like the white cooked, but in all it was fresh and tasty. Very nice.

What a great place to perform for Pride! Loved the atmosphere when we sang there and the food was also delicious. The staff were really helpful, even though they must have been rushed off their feet when our choir descended

Nice setting, very clean and neat. Handy location just off the main run of shops. Good food but a bit of an odd menu. Service was a bit slow. No dogs allowed inside but fine outside. Bread looked lovely.

Really good lunch. Tasty full breakfast and moreish sourdough toast and jam. The doughnuts! Mine was lime curd and coconut. Never tasted the like of it.

I was looking forward to a meal here as last time I had smoked salmon eggs and sauerkraut. This time there was no smoked salmon, so decided on pulled pork eggs the Eggs Benedict menu with sauerkraut instead of bread. Was told that I couldn't have that as it wasn't on menu, and there was no sauerkraut. What efforts would it have taken to offer me an alternative to bread!? Wasn't offered any choice and he appeared to ignore me(as I'm Celiac I have to be careful). I decided to forgo lunch and walked away from till feeling very unhappy and unwelcome. A very sweet member of staff followed me to our table asking if she could help I said what I asked for and she replied yes we can do that for you And with sauerkraut! So sauerkraut appeared by magic? Also my daughter wanted the breakfast said yes it was available but when she said without black pudding was told it was off?! I've worked as a waitress four times and I've always tried to assist customers. It was the same member of staff who served myself and my daughter. Very disappointed and we won't visit again.

this is a very modern cafe with a great atmosphere! their pastries are beautiful and very tasty, and their coffee is fresh and yummy. sitting outside in the fresh air was wonderful.

Fabulously silky smooth cappuccinos and light and crunchy almond croissants! A lovely little breakfast treat pre-walk. (Also they now have an in-house deli, very dangerous for my wife and I) When we finished our walk to the castle, on our way back to the car, we popped back in for their sausage rolls! Oh my, they were some of the best we’ve had. Light and flaky pastry & the filling had a little chorizo zing. We’ve been here many times and they never disappoint! Try their sourdough’s, yum!
