Vicky's Brasserie

As a Hungarian, I can be quite critical of Hungarian restaurants, and although not everything is my style here, I cannot really complain about anything. The food is good, and the drinks are of very good quality. The place has a nice atmosphere and the staff is lovely. Somehow they managed to miss the fact that it was my birthday dinner which we put in the details of our booking, but we still had a good time.

All the dishes were delicious. From starters to dessert. The cabbage rolls, the goulash pancake, the chicken shashlik and the chimney cake being the main highlights. All of it felt and tasted home cooked with good quality ingredients. We cannot wait to return and try more of their menu. The restaurant environment is very cozy and all the staff are kind and efficient. Well worth the drive or train ride to the beautiful village of Haslemere. You can't find this cuisine easily and it is a welcome change from the usual dinner options in the region.

INCREDIBLE gluten free meal!!! 😍 It was so little fuss to order everything for my partner with coeliac disease - and it was lovely to try something different! Lots of alcohol free beers if that's your thing! Will be coming back again and again! My partner's starter was the Transylvanian Soured Cabbage, and it was delicious 😋 would strongly recommend!

Brilliant local spot! Went for lunch with the family on a Saturday and was pleasantly surprised to see that they do their full dinner menu at lunchtime! Personally had the vegetable noodle soup to start and the Chicken Shashlik with the avocado salad, both of which had very generous portion sizes and very delicious! Extremely friendly and helpful staff who were very accommodating to one of our party who is in an electric wheelchair. 5/5 stars, definitely will be going again!

We had a gorgeous meal here mid week. Food is delicious especially if you've been out exploring the South Downs and want something yummy and full of flavour. Excellent, friendly service.

We had a fabulous lunch at Vicky's today. The restaurant was meticulously presented, food was perfectly prepared and beautifully served. We had the Schnitzel, the stuffed cabbage and the chimney cakes - we loved them all. We particularly adored the Transilvanian spices and the British twist on the traditional Hungarian specialities, these really spiced them up! We will certainly be back :)

Our first, but not last visit to Vicky’s. If you haven’t tried it yet then you must. Don’t expect your food served quickly, dishes are prepared individually and cooking takes time, sit back, enjoy the company, drink in the decor and savour the ambience. Everything about our lunchtime visit was delightful.

Had a fantastic meal here, and the staff made some lunch menu items for my partner for dinner as he had spotted them on the menu and being Romanian, was really looking forward to them, they kindly made us the portions. The food was delicious, had the goulash and duck and was well worth the money. Lovely friendly staff, good wine selection, and overall, reasonably priced for a 3 course dinner for 2. We will be back with others to taste more of the menu. And you cant miss the chimney cake!
