I was served by an absolutely lovely barista today at around 2:00 and she absolutely made my day. They were very busy but also efficient and I didn’t wait as long as I usually would at other places!

I been couple times to buy toasties when working. They always put a tissue in the same bag as toastie on a couple occasions had to peel cheese as to avoid eating tissue. They need to stop doing this - people don’t like eating tissue. The first time the male server was wearing blue gloves, great but changed the bin bag under toastie counter. He touched waste and did not change his gloves. He is lovely and good server so over looked the poor hygiene. Today ordered toasties and coke but same server came again after stroking a Dog, touching his face and not wearing gloves or does not wash hands. I question the hygiene standards of all staff because this server -he is good at customer service.

I really like this coffee shop so it saddens me to give it such a low rating. To be clear, I love the coffee served there, I like the cakes albeit they’re a bit pricey (and getting smaller) and the staff are always friendly and efficient. It is just that when I was there a few days ago, there were six dogs in there as well. I’m not anti dogs at all but when six dogs are in a relatively small coffee shop and at least two of them are yapping/barking, well this does not make for a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a coffee/read etc. The dogs’ owners made no attempt to calm or silence them. Sadly, I will have to find somewhere else to enjoy my coffee from now on.
