Stayed here the other night. Lovely accommodation in a truly beautiful part of Ireland. The paintings throughout add such a nice touch and the service was outstanding. Very kind and considerate owners of the establishment and the staff are all fantastic. Highly recommend for anyone staying in the area. Thanks!

Staff wonderful & room fine. Beware of Mondays & late starts. Our agent booked this because of lovely location with a bar & restaurant. We anticipated we could settle in for a nice evening after a long drive - then after a good rest head off to Newgrange 1st thing in the am. Here was what actually happened. Upon arrival disappointed to learn that the restaurant was closed for a music event & the bar hours limited 3-7pm for the same reason. No tickets had been reserved / available for guests. After walking all over town we learned that ALL restaurants were closed. Found a takeout place & ate on a picnic table. Later listened to the concert goers as we tried to sleep. Next day - breakfast only started at 9am - with that & navigation issues - late for Newgrange. Not an ideal stay. Perhaps vacancy was low hence the decision to exclude guests & close restaurant on a day when they had no other choices. Our responsibility for not checking it out better beforehand.

Lovely friendly atmosphere. The staff were very pleasant and efficient. The lady who service us was amazing with our 7 year old daughter letting her in on a few narnia secrets. The food was good too. Thank you

We have just enjoyed another wonderful stay at one of our favourite places. We have stayed here a number of times over the years and always receive such a warm and friendly welcome. Rostrevor is one of the most beautiful places to visit and a walk/run in Kilbroney Forrest is highly recommended. The rooms are always clean and comfortable and the food in the restaurant is exceptional. The bar usually has live music in the evening which adds to the atmosphere and character of the place. We happened to book during the Fiddlers green festival and thoroughly enjoyed the live music in the village. Overall, we would strongly recommend a stay here and hope to return again soon. Keep an eye out for the dinner, breakfast and room deal which is excellent value for money.

I’ve eaten dinner in here the last two nights. Staff are fantastic and the food is absolutely delicious. EDIT: back here 6 weeks later and it’s just as brilliant. The food is just as brilliant and the staff are incredible. You have to try if you’re in the area!

I was in Rostrevor for a weekend and someone recommended this place for food. I have to say it wouldn't be a place I naturally pick but I am so glad they did, the menu is your typical pub grab but there was nothing typical about the quality of the food and the price. I actually had an all day fry and someone else had the loaded fries another person had the the brie tart and the chicken Goujons, we all licked our plates, all the dishes were delicious 😋 the portion sizes were just right, tasty and filling. If I ever go back to that side of the country, I'll definitely dine again. Now I can't say much about the customer service because there was none but when your food is that good, you have to excuse some bad days😉

Zero star if possible, arrived 10 mins before they stopped serving at 9pm, a couple walked in 5 mins ahead of me and they took them. The bar man would have take us but the waitress was plain and simply rude. Will never visit here again, disgraceful behaviour

A mixed experience, we had some really good food, and some of the staff were lovely. We also had the worst service we have ever experienced. The restaurant was very busy, the staff weren't able to cope. I ordered a steak which was mostly raw. The rest of the dinner was overdone. I ate round the edge of the steak, and had the mushrooms. I sat there with a plate that was almost full, no one came near us, we had to go and get a member of staff. I said I would not be paying the £8 steak supplement (we had paid for a B&B & Dinner). The member of staff said that was ok, a very underwhelming response. She then came back to say chef said you can have a free dessert, , (on the residents menu this would have cost £6.50) - Again very underwhelming. When we were leaving, went to pay for drinks, the same member of staff charged for the £8 steak supplement. She said that was what the chef said to do, and that I got a free dessert, that there no manager on duty and there was nothing she could do. We went back to the room and called a number left as a contact ( the accommodation doesn't have any staff). A man who turned out to be the owner arrived promptly, with the member of staff who apologised. I said that we had just had the worst service experience and I wanted to leave. The owner said we could check out the next morning, and that the £8 supplement would be refunded. ( we were meant to stay another day). The member of staff who dealt with us at reception was very abrupt, rude really. So unfortunately we can not recommend this place despite some great food and staff.
