Tatnam Fish and Chips

Long time local customer and even recommended the shop as I was walking out, to someone at the launderette! Tonight’s chips were very disappointing. They were rather dry and seemed to be overcooked, with barely any potato inside them. Everything else we ordered was of the usual high standard, so it was really a shame. Hopefully just a one off, but not what we expected.

This is just a joke on customers. Our order consisted of a small portion of fish, chip, and mushy peas. For £26.00 we got 1kg of chips and 2 pieces of fish, 7 cmm long and 1.5 cmm high. The cost is the same as in Ches Fred. However, "CF" for the same money offers fresh and much larger size of fish, not 1kg of chips for £26.00. This was my first and last visit.

Stopped here to get chips for a bunch of kids after a party. Not only was it friendly, but the chips were the best chip shop chips I've ever had. So used to being served a pile of soft flavourless mush, but these were amazing.... crispy, perfectly salted, full of flavour. I'll definitely visit next time I'm down that way!

Excellent friendly service Thursday evening. Great chips decent portion, good quality cod served with a wedge of lemon and decent battered saveloy. Curry sauce was also very good

Great experience! The owner was very friendly and helpful, the service was quick and efficient, and the place had a nice, relaxed atmosphere. The fish and chips were tasty and well-prepared. Would definitely come back.

I can’t recommend this place enough, not only are the good old British fish and chips absolutely delicious but they have a menu that will suit everyone that identifies as a a human… Jon and his team are so welcoming and friendly and it’s never a problem when my fussy son wants something different cooked… On the specials board this week are battered prawns and they were lovely

I hate writing negative reviews, but I feel it's right to share this one. This was a Tatnam 'large' haddock. I'm not sure I took the best photo to illustrate the scale but it's not even a big box! Sadly it was also quite dry. For the price I feel a bit hard done by, which is a shame as the delivery staff and manager I spoke to on the phone were lovely. Maybe I just got unlucky, but I'll probably go back to my regular chippy after this. On the plus side, chip portion was generous and pea fritter pleasant, so didn't go hungry!

Just wanted to say a big shout out to Jhon the owner of Tantam fish and chips, he was super friendly , had a good crack and overall genuine guy . Don’t get me started on the food , where can I begin it was amazing absolutely nothing I could say I’d change , large portions, great taste and texture and not to greasy . We had to go back for seconds , oh wait maybe it was thirds 😂 Sat outside on there benches enjoying the air . Honestly definitely the best chip shop in Britain . Don’t forget to try the milkshake , they are better than five guys by far Top notch mayw
