What an absolute delight this place proved to be..being dairy free can be a challenge when ordering an afternoon tea, having booked a while back and explained dietary requirements they clearly know their stuff as it was incredible..Thank you so much for taking the time and effort making it more or less identical to a non dairy free one… can honestly say they made me feel it wasn’t an inconvenience doing something different.. Try it you won’t be disappointed.. price was very reasonable too..💖

Visited the Courtyard cafe on Shrove Tuesday. Ordered a stack of freshly made pancakes and maple syrup and two mugs of tea. (fuel for a brisk walk). Lovely pancakes, a good strong cuppa enjoyed within the charming courtyard. The service was excellent, polite and friendly. A good place to escape the mayhem for a while. Most definitely worth another visit. p.s. The poached egg Royale with salmon is superb.

Visited summer 2025. Positives, the food was good for simple cafe food. Negatives, the staff were appealing. A group of smart mouthed objectionable teenagers who despite claiming to have passed a basic food hygiene course either learnt nothing or just didn’t care. Might be great Mon - Sat but our Sunday experience was awful. If you try eating here hopefully you have a better experience than we did. The other ratings on Google suggest it cannot be normally as bad as our experience was.

Tiny little cafe off Poole High Street.Drably decorated, vinyl table cloths An open kitchen, Literally two small rooms with four tables and a larger courtyard which I understand they will be having live music. Good luck with that if it gets busy. My first visit and only visit wasn't great. They forgot my coffee order and the jacket potatoes which tasted OK were only just hot enough to eat and the skin wasn't crispy, it came with a big load of undressed salad leaves dumped in the plate. I don't think they know how to use their new jacket potato oven, given the conversation I heard from the tiny kitchen.Very slow service given there were 3 staff. The other dinners we sat near complainted they had slow service and cold food. The poor chap by the front door was constantly having to close it after customers coming in and out left it open . It was a cold day and the place was chilly even with the guy shutting the door . Given the amount of cafes and restaurants in Poole we won't be going to back in a hurry.

If you are happy to have afternoon tea whilst staff smoke and drink Tequila shots on the table next to you then this is the venue for you.... Food was okay but we had to ask for napkins, knives and teaspoons. The staff rolled their eyes and constantly scrolled on their phones😢. A never to be repeated experience.

Wonderful place to stop for tea and cake. Slightly away from the quay, but we’ll worth it. It is so nice to visit a tea shop which isn’t run by some large chain and has staff who really care about the food, the drinks and the customers. It was sparkling clean and the food was good. W will be back.

FOR ALL TEA LOVERS.. come here and you won't be disappointed. From a unassuming entrance you enter a lovely tearoom with room inside and out plus a little snug, with a great choice of tea leaves ( Yunnan is my new favourite) to accommodate most people. All the food looked great and the cake are to die for, I went for my favourite a cream tea and wasn't disappointed the scones we light and broke perfectly (well done chef).. Great staff, reasonably priced and we'll be back for sure 👍👍

Yet another fantastic celebrity afternoon tea in The Courtyard. This place is a hidden gem and is like it's own oasis off heaven. The food is exquisite and all made fresh to order, from the tea cups and tea pots, to the pretty decor made our afternoon tea just amazing. Jane and her staff were as always very polite, helpful and went out off their way to make our visit a very special one. Myself, my sister celebrated our Aunties and our Mum's birthdays and we all had a wonderful time. The food was just divine. I can't wait to return. See you all soon. Kind thanks to Jane and her staff. Your really special people.
