Bungalow Cafe

Really nice local café. Staff were friendly, prices were reasonable and the food was up to standard. The views from the cafe are great, giving it a good atmosphere. Would strongly recommend this to start your day right!

Talk about a breakfast with a view. This wasn’t our first visit, we knew their breakfasts were legendary. I opted for eggs Benedict this time. Definitely gave it their own twist! The hollandaise was perfect, eggs beautifully cooked. Would probably have preferred different bread, but it was decent. The salad was nice, but unexpected. I had a pot of decaf tea and it was huge. Enough for at least 2-3 big cups. Quick, pleasant service, gorgeous setting and delicious food.

Oh, I absolutely loved this place! The food, the view, the staff - everything was wonderful. I’ll definitely be coming back. The scrambled eggs, scones, avocado, and tea… I was in love!

Lovely, nice, quaint cafe offering great homemade food at affordable prices. The place is clean with great views of the beach and ocean. I wouldn’t say the way is outrageously good but it hits the spot and is definitely good for the price they set out. I had the full English which was delicious and a latte which was okay.

Think Bungalow Cafe is the best place for breakfast in Sunderland with a great view over Roker sea front. Had the xl breakfast and my mother had the small breakfast which is quite a size too. Breakfast spot on, staff friendly and reasonably priced. Canny size tea pot if you just want tea. I'd highly recommend.

Lovely cafe situated right at Roker harbour entrance, with a great view across the water. Great for breakfasts, large portions, and quick friendly service. Limited seating, window seats always go first. Some parking outside, but lots of parking on streets in local area.

First Sunday lunch at Bungalow Cafe this week and won’t be the last. We haven’t been here before - look, it’s not the ritz but it doesn’t claim to be. Honest, decent grub at canny prices. My partner has a nut allergy and informed the waiter, waitress came back from the kitchen to double and triple check with us re: potential contamination which is great, not all places we eat are this careful. I went for the lamb which just fell to bits, just how I like it. Turnip and yorkshires were great and the gravy was just how I like it, nice and thick. Only criticism would be the mash was a bit lumpy and the peas were dry as sticks, but that didn’t put me off polishing the lot off. Hit the spot, just what I needed. My dinner was not quite as good as my mams (the pinnacle in my humble opinion) but it was pretty close to what I’d consider a ‘proper’ home cooked dinner! Oh and what a view… doesn’t get much better than looking over the beach.
