I wonder why there are so many good reviews resulting in a very high score. I had dinner there because of the reviews. The restaurant was full although it was a weekday evening. I thought I went to a right place but I was totally disappointed. I agree that the service is normal good and the food is big portion. Guests are advised everybody to order a main dish. That means you have to waste the food if you cannot finish it. We had chicken linguine, pork steak, lamb and duck meat for four people. All are below 20. We could not taste the original taste of food because it was covered by the sauce. I could not finish the linguine because it was extremely salty. The chicken was salty and it was cooked with too many very salty ham chunks. The pork was dry, difficult to chew and tasteless. The chef put a lot of sauce on it to make it softer. The price is not expensive if the food is normal. A 200 ml common Italian sparkling water charges 9 Pounds must be a joke.

We went to visit family and they booked a table for us here as it’s their favourite place. The menu was amazing. So much choice. So many good options. The food was amazing. Such hearty homely meals. Staff were beyond friendly. High recommend. Will definitely be visiting again.

We arrived slightly early before our booking no problem for them at all , we were given a table upstairs but was too hot for me going through the ladies overheating time of life... we were then kindly given a table downstairs near the door in which I was immensely grateful with no fuss from the restaurant at all. The waiting staff were so helpful efficient and polite. The food was excellent, tasty , hot and generous portions. Jon our waiter was so efficient and friendly. I would highly recommend it. Excellent evening thank you 😊

Really good, home cooked food. I almost wept when I saw the menu. There were things in there that many people would think old fashioned and therefore a bit of a joke. But for me it was like unexpectedly running in long lost friends. These people know what they are doing and are doing it to a high level with no fuss or mucking about. Staff were great. They even gave me some onion rings on my gammon and pineapple - no charge! My only complaint is that it’s in Welshpool and we live in Sarf East London. If I lived nearby I’d go every night and work my way through the entire menu. And when I’d done that I’d start again. It’s so comforting to know that these places still exist. Welshpool, you don’t know how lucky you are!

I went to the corn store with some friends and the interior was very nice. They had airy lights and a good ambience. My friends and i each got starters, and honestly, the starters could have been a main all by itself as the portion sizes were very generous. The shredded beef was amazing, and the whole table loved it. The mains were a decent size, and they came with a bowl of chips and vegeta les for the table. I had the tikka flat bread, which was not the best as it did not taste like tikka. Overall the food was good and the atmosphere was great. Would come back for the shredded beef.

We have came away on a holiday and got recommended by the lady on our caravan site. We was not disappointed. There was 6 in our party, we all opted for a roast, lamb shank, beef & pork. The food came out piping hot. You have the meat and Yorkshire pudding with gravy on your plate, might I add we had SO much meat for the price I had atleast 5 cuts of beef. The veggies & potatoes & parsnips come out in a huge bowl all separately. It was amazing I will definitely recommend and be back. We had a kinder brownie for pudding and it was delicious. Staff were polite. Toilets were amazing!!! Immaculately clean & smelt amazing. I can’t recommend this place enough. Thankyou for such a gorgeous dinner!!

Having toured Wales for a few days, this was the most amazing discovery and highlight of all. The food was amazing, rustic and wholesome along with the most welcoming service one could ask. We all left stuffed and fully satisfied, maybe tipped over the edge with the dessert which you could not refuse. Highly worth it and must visit if you are visiting.
