Came here when a friend and I were walking in the nearby forest and on our way to Largs. Hot Chocolate was very tasty, not overly sweet. Nice prices, with good staff. And on another note, I bought McCaskie’s Haggis for a fry up, and well… it is clear how they earned the World Haggis Championship of 2025! Thanks and all the best!

What a gem of a place. We'd been aware of this cafe for some time living only a few miles away. I happened across a news article reviewing Wemyss Bay that extolled the virtues of this place do we thought, why not? We were not disappointed..from the cleanliness of the place to the friendliness of all the staff and even a really cool soundtrack playing that lead to a knowledgeable discussion on David Byrne with the manager. This all before our breakfasts arrived..possibly could be classed as expensive at £11 for a small brekkie without a brew, but most definitely worth every penny. The food is farm standard, proper back bacon and real sausages with beautiful black pudding and haggis. It was so pleasant a visit that we stayed and had coffee and a shared home made cake which was also delicious. Well done everyone. You're a delight to visit.

Quality breakfast requires quality ingredients. The haggis was superb sausages super tasty, and the black pudding is a close second to my favourite Ramsays of Carluke. Flat white coffee was excellent. Anyone going to Bute must give here a visit.

I am not usually a 5 star reviewer. This place was outstandingly exceptional! Clean, friendly, attentive, I felt valued as a customer beyond expectation. The food, well the word I used for the black pudding and mushroom pancake stack was “orgasmic” I was so shocked how high quality all the food was. This is no greasy spoon. The Scottish breakfast was so high quality, my Dad who usually smothers a breakfast in sauce, had non! The flavours were stand alone. (No sauce necessary!!) Thank you McCaskie’s. May your quality food and service be long enjoyed and may your business continue to prosper.

When on vacation to the UK my wife and I stopped by the butcher shop. It was fantastic!! Clean and well managed by the shop workers. We got a couple of "Steak and Onion Bridies" which were very tasty. We had only a couple of minutes to visit and wished we could have stayed longer. Their Haggis is also great which has earned a 2025 Award. -Daryl

McCaskies is a wonderful strange mix. A Bespoke butchery establishment with a deserved reputation for quality in Wymess Bay has the unique setting of having a cafe Restaurant in the same building. The cafe interior and food quality are excellent. Baked goods look tasty also. Cooked Breakfast is much of a muchness everywhere. Similar ingredients so its all down to the cooking and presentation. Gladly both are good. At £12 breakfast is not cheap There is an anomaly with the website which states one price at £8.50.but items and portions are good. The restaurant is situated opposite the ferry terminal and rail station which is really convenient Staff are nice 'n' friendly and service was quick.

The butchers was good but the cafe actually closes at 3, not at 4 as is advertised everywhere. We went in around 3:40 to get something to go and we're told the kitchen was closed already. Please change your advertised opening times, if the kitchen is closed the cafe may as well be closed too.

Great place to stop for a coffee and cake or a meal before getting on the ferry opposite or after getting off the ferry. We stopped for coffee, deluxe hot chocolate and cakes which were very tasty but lots of other guests had a meal, which also looked very nice. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Small free car park next to the Cafe or a pay and display along the road. After our snack we had a look around the old station right opposite the Cafe.
